Overall very happy with it.This error occurs because there are no e-mail and password stored on your computer for this site. It is non-traditional so this radio is not for everyone. It is very different that all other radios and has a learning curve. I was able to program all the settings and frequencies into different banks and has removed all my frustrations using this radio.

One thing that made a HUGE difference was the RT Systems programming software (sorry Icom). Trying to switch between voice and digital modes nearly drove me crazy trying to remember the settings. It is all mode for VHF/UHF which I don't use often but is nice to have that option.I have been using it for 6m FM through a new local repeater. The WSJT and Winlink software works well with the radio. It is nice to plug in 1 USB cable from radio to computer. I have been busy using this radio for digital on HF. I originally purchased it for D-star but the repeater nearby went down so I do not have access to local D-star repeater. I have been running the 7100 for just over 6 months. I've worked over 50 countries with this rig in my VW Passat with a Comet UHV-6 mobile antenna with the 40, 20 and 15 resonators on board. I've been using Icom radios for decades and the VFO knob on this radio looks like something that was designed by someone at 4:45 on a friday and had to have it done by 5:00. Ida rather had an antenna tuner or a NICE vfo knob. It does have a tendency once in a while start acting a bit strange and when it does, I just do a partial reset and reload my own setting off my sd card and I'm back in business. Above that, the radio dials it's RF output down in a self preservation measure. I don't know if the manufacturer resolved this or not, but I get 100 watts where ever my antenna is within 2:1 swr. I see people fussing about not getting 100 watts out of the radio on various different bands. I've owned this radio for about 6 months now and I really like it. The latest 32-bit floating point DSP (Digital Signal Processing) supports many digital processing features, such as a digital IF filter, twin PBT (Pass-Band Tuning), and manual notch filters. The D-STAR DV mode has loads of advantages over the analog FM mode: Digitally modulated clear voice 950 bps of simultaneous data transfer D-STAR individual calling using YOUR call sign, and access to the worldwide D-STAR repeater network linked via the Internet, just to name a few. IC-7100 base/mobile transceivers provide D-STAR (Digital Smart Technology for Amateur Radio) and DV (Digital Voice) mode and low speed data communication on the 2 meter and 70 centimeter bands. The radio control head features a large, multi-function, 'touch screen' Dot-Matrix LCD display! This is an important feature because the controller's display not only provides information, but is also your control portal to the IC-7100's feature settings and menus.Д«reaking the basic rule that a radio faceplate must be vertically flat, the IC-7100's control head is sloped for the optimal viewing angle for the LCD display!
